Ambition a minuet in power5/24/2023 Set in 1789 Paris, it’ll test how well you can navigate the various factions in society via your fashion and dialogue choices in the very year where the French revolution was supposed to occur. In this game, you play as a girl from a small town named Yvette Decaux, who was lucky enough to marry into nobility and live the rest of your life in luxury with the man you love, Baron Armand de Marbo… or so you thought. I feel like either of those would make it feel a lot more worth the 40/week price.Games Like Ambition: A Minuet in Power Adventure Ambition: A Minuet in Power is a visual novel that’s filled with love and political intrigue. ![]() ![]() If you did decide to add the feature I feel like it would work well as either a) a thing where you spend a day to have Maurice work on a garment and restore its novelty and/or boost one of its stats, or b) a passive bonus where he slows novelty decay and maybe adds a small bonus to the relevant stat for the party you're going to, with the in game explanation that he's making subtle alterations to fit the style preferences of that faction. (As I recall he even uses the term "novelty" which otherwise mostly refers to the game mechanic - and the discount thing is tossed in as an "oh, and I can even get you a discount!") Actually having that feature would be dope, but I get that that would be hard to implement, so an easier fix would be just changing that bit of dialogue? In that case can I suggest that you change the dialogue when you get the offer to hire him? The way he describes his services explicitly makes it sound like he would be able to restore novelty to clothes and change their attributes. I'll add it to our to-do list that we should find a way to make his help more obvious. Originally posted by Joy Manufacturing Co.:Maurice's main ability (other than some situational help he can provide in key incidents) is that he provides you with a discount a Le Petit Mogol. So there's a handy way to solve both problems at once! I'm enjoying the game thus far otherwise so hopefully the feedback helps That only serves to help drive players to believe he has an active interface somewhere that we've missed. Right now, since the prices of new dresses seem rather random, it's difficult to tell he's discounting them and so it's hard to tell he does anything at all. That way, you'd clearly see when he helps and how. ![]() Maybe even have a little flyby notification when he helps like that, similar to the affection change ones. ![]() He promises to keep your dresses in fashion so perhaps have the novelty of your dresses degrade slower while he's in your employ. I rather like Maurice so, rather than just being more honest about what he does, I think he could use a little buff. Also a few odds and ends benefits on the side that you may or may not get the chance to use. Sorry Manufacturing, I, too feel rather duped by Maurice's promises of active tailoring, only to find out (solely by leaving the game and coming here) that he is basically Amazon Prime: a recurring payment to save money at a particular retailer that you must patronize frequently enough to justify the cost of the service itself.
